The Argument of Reality[3]
Have you ever wondered what the government keeps from you? What they might be doing to you right now and you not even know it? Well, in the movie V for Vendetta, one speech explains that the constitutional monarchy of London, England, becoming more strict, much as like a dictatorship, or communistic government. They are "soliciting our submission", as V says, which means that the government is walking all over it's people, making them stay weak, powerless to a country, but the people letting themselves get walked on for no reason at all. His words oppose the High Chancellor Adam Sutler and the injustice he and the government stand for. For the people of London, the masked V emotionally explains the necessary reasoning to act now against the government for they are pressuring us with wrong, secretive moves.
The mastermind behind England's news interruption would be a man in a mask, going by the name of V. Though he is just described physically as masked, his feelings, thoughts, and emotions are uncovered by his speech to the people. England, in V's eyes, is the English government turning into a totalitarian system of government right in front of the weakening people that it regions over, controlling and maneuvering them. The people should go against their fears, no matter who is in parliament office, and take the government down.
V explains to his shocked, bemused audience of English news watchers conciliatorily that there is need, and he would like, for commemoration on the 5th of November in the year to come. It will not also be a blowing up of the Parliament building, but V and his supporters are wanting to go against government again, as he facts one man's try many years ago. V's calm spoken truths transform into straightforward, guilty evaluation, wanting the public to notice that they are being held down. The words play on emotions of the citizens, hearing that there is something wrong with the society, blaming the public for hiding in Parliament's shadow, not wanting to fight for the rights they were promised.
Though the speech is said through V's masked mouth, the character he is and the writers wanted to explain that the government is controlling our every move in the United States today. Government is going against the promises, taking away the leverage on the freedoms we once had. Since September 11th, terrorism is becoming a stronger issue everyday in America, thus suffocating our freedoms, lessening them slowly. V and the writers want you to "feel as they feel", thus wanting the citizens of the United States to bring down the government.
V’s words to England signify importance in today’s world, giving the explanation that the U.S. government is tightening up and that the people should do something about it. Through stating facts and making a wall of pathos around the citizen’s hearts, Vendetta pressures the point to act against the English government, to break the submission, and over take for good.
